Visiting Maya Beach

Azure Del Mar is across the street from RV Belize and offers beach, pool and all day restaurant amenities.  They also allow well-behaved dogs on their beach if always on leash and picked up after!

Peninsula Store offers a basic selection of grocery and household items.  They have recently changed hands so are still working toward growing their stock.  Head 3 miles south to Publics Supermarket in Seine Bight for a full selection of grocery items including meats, dairy and produce.

Maya Beach offers public beach access walkways every mile. The gravel walkway one block north of RV Belize leads to a small public beach with easy water access for swimming, snorkeling and kayak launching.

Captain Jaks is located 1 mile south and offers daily, weekly and monthly golf cart rentals if you need an alternate form of transportation.  They will even deliver the golf cart to you!

Maya Beach Bistro is 1 mile north and our unabashed recommendation for a nice meal out - especially brunch.  Loaded bloody marys, craft coffees, duck hash and peanut brittle ice cream pie to name a few!

Tank filling of LPG is available onsite at RVBelize M-Sa between 9:00 - 12:00. 

"LPG stands for “Liquefied Petroleum Gas.” In Belize we often refer to this product as butane, however it is a blend of both butane and propane. The Belize Bureau of Standards Regulation requires the blend of these 2 gases be 70% propane and 30% butane. In a 70/30 blend there is an optimal ratio of butane in the mix resulting in cooking gas that provides effective heat (energy) and a vapor pressure appropriate for residential gas cylinders – meaning it’s safe to store and handle."  - NATIONAL GAS BELIZE

Just across from Peninsula Store is the community public park with picnic table, chairs and benches.  Dogs ARE allowed on leashes as long as they are picked up after.  This park often suffers from beach litter so take a plastic bag along and pick up a little trash while you're there!

Ceiba Resort is 3/4 mile north and allows dogs on their beautiful beach where you can also order delicious (if a little pricey) food and eat under the shade of the palms.  If you order food or drink, you are welcome to use their large pool with swim-up bar for free.  Rent a towel for $5 or bring your own. 

Azure Del Mar offers whole rotisserie chickens (with sides) daily starting at 11AM. 

Jaguar Lanes makes the best pizza on the peninsula.

Rum Bum offers local dishes and daily lunch specials including fish burgers, stew beef and rice with beans.
